. this was the big talking point for mitt romney is he will create these jobs during his presidency. but this is already an established number. that this is coming on the economic path that we're already on. >> effectively, yes. and the private economists and the cb o economists in their budget estimates have put this number out there. and, yeah, the path would allow for that, although we've only recaptured 5 million jobs of the 8 million lost in the recession in the last three or four years. so we don't know what that number is actually, thomas. it could be 12 million, it could be another 4 million. it really depends on a couple of things. will this economy continue to move? will it gain momentum? will europe and china derail global economic growth? is there a geopolitical event that slows things down and drives oil prices higher? we don't know. the estimate is that over the next four years 12 million jobs or so will be created. >> ron, jared, gentlemen, thank you so much. i want to point out to everybody as i told you off the top of the hour, we are watching two events expected fo

. life is on. >> breaking news, we have this from the romney campaign. their response to the jobs numbers this morning. governor romney's campaign says this is not what a real recovery looks like. the campaign says, more jobs-- fewer jobs were created in september than in the month of august. and he says this is the real unemployment rate, that would be if all of those drop-outs came back in the labor force, the real unemployment rate would be around 11%. that's just in from the romney camp reacting to the friday morning jobs report showed a decline in jobless rate 7.8% with only 114,000 new jobs created. there are contradictions there and there's some mistrust of the numbers. the stock market opening in the wake of that jobs report. what are we going to see? we are expecting a flat market. down 6 or 7 points in the very, very early going and look, we're dead flat. i want to bring in nicole petallides on the floor of the exchange. because it seems to me that there is no market reaction to one of the biggest economic reports of the year. now, i'm not sure i can explain it, can you?
the other night. and governor romney did a good job, for what he needed to do. but i also we the next day on to fact checker and looked at the reality of what they both said. and there was discrepancies on both sides. you know, more discrepancies on romney's side. so i don't trust governor romney. i trust the president a lot more than i trust governor romney. >> okay. we're going to talk a lot more about this in the story, moira, but i'll ask you right now, that 47% remark that mitt romney made with that secretly recorded videotape, he came out and said i didn't mean that at all. it was a mistake. never mind. don't pay attention to that. does that resonate for you? >> i'm so glad you asked that question, carol, because in the past 14 months my husband was unemployed. he just got a temp job tuesday. and we were dependent on that unemployment so that we wouldn't lose our house. we don't have health care, so we had to go to social services. you know, there was a lot of things that we needed help on. so i was part of that 47%, but i'm telling you, i was not a victim. and i was ticked off at g
